Colin Brake was trained in the mystic art of Script Editing by the co-creator of EastEnders, Tony Holland and subsequently worked on the award-winning BBC soap in a number of script-related roles, including as a Story Editor and as Storyline Editor. As a writer he was a contributor to each season of the 90s Carnival Films/BBC Saturday night adventure series BUGS and also served as the Script Executive for the show. He has written numerous television scripts for a variety of shows including EastEnders, Crossroads, Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married, Byker Grove and more than 30 episodes of the BBC Daytime soap, Doctors. He has also written Doctor Who and Jago & Litefoot audio dramas for Big Finish.
Additionally he is a published author, having written novels for the best-selling BBC Books line of Doctor Who fiction (Price of Paradise, Judgement of the Judoon), as well as original children’s novels (Gunk Aliens), novelizations (Merlin), interactive fiction (numerous Decide Your Destiny titles for Penguin Books) and franchise fiction (Transformers, Doctor Who).
He lives in Leicester with his wife Kerry, two teenagers, two Cornish Rex cats, two Chihuahuas and his mother-in-law. Pity him.
